Some Assembly Required

Saturday night Lenhart was hosting a nice little game night at his place in Norwalk, so not to waste the one and a half hour trip from NP down to his place, we decided to make an afternoon/evening of it and stop first at the Ikea in New Haven. I've been on the hunt for a drawing desk during the last few weeks and i haven't had any luck finding something I like around here. Unless, you're in the market for campy computer desks or used pottery barn on craigslist for more than my last paycheck.

When we got the "work area" section of Ikea, i felt my brain was going to explode. So many choices and combinations to chose from! As Gilday can attest, i had a pretty difficult time deciding between function and style. I went with a little of both and my ultimate creation is suburb. We managed to get the 3 boxes into the jetta, and off to the game night.

Game night was tons of fun with Paul being a smashingly great host, (unfortunately there was no sign of the great sweater combo from christmas.) There was no surprise that the teams that we were on triumphed victoriously. I especially enjoyed the Marist vs Non-Marist (alumni) competition of Pop Culture Trivial Pursuit. Was it any surprise that the Marist alumni would be trounced by our superior knowledge of all things pop?

Sunday we took turns building the supports to the desktop, one being a small cabinet of drawers and the other a shelfing system with a door. Then we did some arranging in the office, then arranged again, and once more for the fun of it, and viola! Now have an office that both off us can use at the same time.

Photos to come!

Let's move the bookcase two feet to the left. No wait, let's put it in the opposite corner instead. Hmmm, that's not right. Hey, I have an idea, let's put the fucker right back where it was in the first place.

Well, not exactly back where it started. It moved to the left 2 inches. LOL.
