475 Kent Avenue

As some of you know, my friend Lillian is the landlord of a floor in a 11 story building in Brooklyn. Its made up of 15 loft spaces that Artists use to create, work and live in. A few weeks ago, the whole building was evacuated for multiple violations, in the middle of night, on one of the coldest days of the winter. You can read the whole story here.

They are trying to get as much press on the situation as possible so I wanted to pass along the story. I feel terrible for the people who are being affected by the politics of businessmen and lack of compassion that is being shown by the city of New York. I agree, some of the violations are justified, but don't force hundreds of people out of their homes and offices just because you feel like it.
