How was the show?

It was great. Although, Modest Mouse really deserved more of the audiences attention than they received. R.E.M. was better than ever (post-Berry) and really knocked my socks off. :)

Thanks for asking! I had an amazing time.

I was curious because many, many moons ago I too saw REM at MSG. Our seats were the very next to the last row, meaning the lights never went down where we were because we were essentially in a hallway. The opening act was atrocious--Lucious Jackson if you remember them--but REM was good. I got to watch a tiny, far-away Michael Stipe flail away as he sang a lot of the really good REM tunes from the 80's.

I honestly haven't followed them too much lately and I don't think they'll ever match their older material but I'd still see them live!

Ah... the Monster tour in '95, I believe! The bassist of LJ wore some awesome teal blue sneakers (random memory)that I fell in love with. I caught that show in Albany. It was my first REM show, and I haven't missed a tour ever since.
