busy busy busy

With mid-terms fast approaching, trying to have a life outside of grad school & working on the new installation of our kitchen, life has been more than hectic for the Gilday's. I'm amazed I have time to post today!

On the occasion I have a moment to placate my brain on things other than new media & water faucets, I'll check out some of my favorite blogs. Most are linked on the side bar (Jim, you're making me want to move to CO), but there is one that I hate to love, the Internet mommy-blogger, Dooce. Thankfully she doesn't just write about her daughter all the time, so I feel safe reading it. Kids are great and everything, but until we're ready to jump on board the child raising express the traditional mommy (or daddy) blog won't keep me interested for very long. I'm sure some could say the same about mine, as I tend to post heavily about our fuzzy kids.

Anyway, so today I had some time to catch up with some of my fellow bloggers, and have to say that this post by Dooce pretty much summed up our dogs. What is it about the youngest female dog in a family? Riley is our Coco, complete with blank stare and a brain composed of nothing but a pile of pebbles. I guess she needs the extra brain space for all that love she gives. My car pool buddy has the same dog dynamic, older male rottie-basset mix (really) Boomer and a young female daschund, Maggie. Her Boomer is super smart & well behaved while Maggie would walk into the glass sliding door or walk away when asked to sit.

Its one of the things I love about blogs. I like knowing that there are more people out there going through what we are, complete with tissue obsessions, and get what's going on in our lives at the moment. And when you're ready to take another step up the life ladder, there will surely be another willing and ready to help you through.

Hey you guys are always welcome to come visit :) Colorado is pretty amazing, though don't forget the Mid-Hudson/New England area kicks our scenic ass in the autumn. Sure we get a few golden aspen trees, big deal. And autumn lasts like 4 days.

I do have to say though, Colorado is kind of like doggie paradise!
