Vacations! I can't get enough of them. We just booked our hotel for our New Years Montreal trip after going back and forth about staying in a B&B or a hotel. I'm usually all for the B&B's on vacations but I thought that since its New Year's we might want to stay at a place that has an in house restaurant/bar in case we can't find anywhere cool to go. We're not big New Years celebrators, so the added convenience for us to be lame, is a plus.
I've also started to gather information for next years big summer blockbuster. More like, Gilday has given me the OK to start planning the trip. I tend to dream big, and that usually means spend big, so vacation dreams require prior credit authorization. We've decided to go to Europe, probably in August to avoid our hectic class schedules. I know that with Gilday working diligently to graduate in December of '09, our only real opening next year is the end of July and August. I'm checking out some river and Mediterranean cruise options, as well as some backpacking routes. Right now I'm leaning on the cruise because you have an idea ahead of time what you'll be spending for the 7-10 days of the trip.
There are so many choices of what to see and explore! Sometimes I hate my love of traveling. It's expensive, I only get so much vacation time from work, and I want to see everything. And like the typical spoiled American, I want it now. I want to visit the Galapagos islands, swim in the crystal blue waters of Fiji, sing karaoke in Japan, have a picnic on the great wall of china, and kayak with whales in British Columbia. Sounds like fun, right? If I only could get paid to travel....
