Per Wikipedia: “Tinsel is a thin metallic strip typically made of plastic for use for Christmas decoration, particularly on Christmas trees. It was originally made of shredded silver…Very thin strips of a glittering, metallic material used as a decoration, and traditionally, draped at Christmas time over streamers, paper chains and the branches of Christmas trees.”
Garland is the thicker strips and tinsel is the thin little silver stuff you hang off the end of the tree.
Thanks Sheila! It's nice to know that one of you does.
Your husband needs to get with the times - Wikipedia is THE source for everything. I can't help it he's an old fart and can't keep up with what us young people are doing.
