I’m sick. Caused possibly by the terrible circulation on the airline, Tuesday I awoke with a scratchy throat, and by the afternoon it was a full blown cold. Icky. Yesterday led to a day spent sleeping/coughing/dozing/sneezing between the bedroom and the living room watching mind numbing cable.
On MTV, I was mesmerized by a show about kids just out of high school getting married. Not to long ago, it was the norm for that to happen (my parents were high school sweethearts), but now, it just seems like a waste of quality time as a youth. I just couldn’t get over it. Yes, Gilday and I fell in love early (18 & 19), but I couldn’t imagine us getting married at that age. In college, a good night out for us was getting $10 for trolling the supermarket aisles for expired products (they would pay you 50 cents for each one you brought in). That sounds so ghetto, but it was true. Many a dinners and/or a movie were purchased that way. Anyway… on the other side of the coin, I caught an episode of the Tila Tequila show which managed to get a second season (apparently the first shot of love with her choosing Bobbie over Dani didn’t work out). What a trip.
Also on my rehab TV was Top Chef (because I watched 4 episodes on the return trip from Cali and now I have to see which chef wins) and just catching up on some of my DRV’ed shows from our vacation. Even though I felt terrible, it felt good to have a reason to hang out on the couch and watch tv.
I'm thinking that tonight will be more of the same, as Gilday now has the sickness.
